A Blackburn teen suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon when a car in which she was riding left the road and ended up in a creek late Monday afternoon, June 9, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Kimberly Moenkhoff, 15, sought medical attention on her own, according to the report.
She was a passenger in a car driven by Brittany N. Rieves, 16, of Smithton, troopers said. Both occupants were wearing safety belts, according to the report.
The accident occurred about 4:50 p.m. on Highway 127 just north of County Road 318.
Rieves apparently failed to negotiate a curve, struck a mailbox and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels in a creek, according to troopers.
Rieves also said she would seek treatment on her own. She was issued a summons for careless and imprudent driving and failure to provide proof of insurance.

Nothing like a good ole stereotyping bash!!!! Maybe next we should take alcohol away from drunk drivers....nah that would make to much sense...lets take there driving privileges away for 90 days.
Just another careless teen driver. Maybe raising the driving age to 18 is a wise idea. Considering teen drivers accident statistics are extremely high in this country. Take away the cell phones and more drivers ed,few trips to the morgue to see what careless teen driving can result in and they may be more carefull. But i doubt it. Kids at that age just dont have the common sence to operate a car safly at this age.
Thank god they were wearing seat belts or this could have been much worse. Im glad there were no serious injuries.
