An art exhibit featuring work by Boonslick residents will open on Saturday, June 7, at Arrow Rock State Historic Site.

The event is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Friends of Arrow Rock, Inc.

The opening event will feature a lecture and an artist reception that will begin at 10 a.m. in the historic site's visitor center and is free and open to the public.

Bartlett C. Jones of Columbia will present a lecture entitled "The Boonslick's Confederate Hero and Neglected Artist," which highlights 19th century Boonslick artist William B. Cox.
