Edward John Ohlendorf, 90, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent on line at www.heckartfuneralhome.com. There will be no family visitation. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.
He was born May 1, 1918, in Marshall, the son of Herman and Lillie Christman Ohlendorf. On May 23, 1994, in Miami, Okla., he married Madeline Goodson Long, who survives of the home. Ohlendorf was a member of the Lutheran church in Marshall. He attended Parkview Christian Church. He was a self-employed farmer and over the road truck driver. He lived most of his life in Saline County. He had lived in Sedalia since 1994, moving here from Marshall.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Ohlendorf of the home; two daughters, Maricin Henderson of Gilliam and Mimi Hensen of Moundridge, Kan.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Taaffee of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George Ohlendorf, and one sister, Florence Bostwick.
