Plattner announces new historic place designation for Arrow Rock site

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

During regular session of the Saline County Commission Tuesday, June 3, Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner announced the Missouri Council on Historic Preservation has approved the nomination of the area known as Todd's Landing, Arrow Rock, to the National Register of Historic Places.

The nomination will be forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register for review and approval.

In other business, the commission approved liquor license renewals for Wal-Mart, Patricia's and Applebee's restaurant. These approvals are in addition to nine others approved for MFA Breaktime locations in Saline County at the meeting Thursday, May 29.

Plattner also announced the approval of final funding for the reconstruction project at Blind Pony recreation area. Plattner said she hopes construction at Blind Pony will be completed in time for a grand re-opening in the fall of 2008. The park's lake has been closed since March 2004.

The next regular meeting of the commission will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, in the commission office on the lower level of Saline County Courthouse.
