Deputies were called to a rural Blackburn residence early Friday afternoon, May 30, to investigate a report of harassment.
According to the incident report, a Sedalia man was at the residence, pounding on the door and walls, demanding to see his children.
When deputies explained that the lack of a visitation agreement with the children's mother made visitation impossible, and that it would be necessary for him to retain a lawyer to address the situation, the man left without further objection.
No citation was issued.
On Saturday morning, May 31, a Lee's Summit woman and two female friends contacted the Sheriff's office when the grandparents of one of the three refused to allow their granddaughter to take custody of her infant child for whom they were babysitting.
All three women arrived at Saline County Justice Facility asking for assistance in forcing the grandparents, who live in rural Marshall, to give them the child.
The child's mother voluntarily agreed to a breath test, which registered the presence of alcohol at more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. After learning the other two women did not have valid driver's licenses and because they also appeared to be intoxicated, deputies seized the keys to the vehicle the women were using and informed them the child would not be released into their custody.
No charges were filed.

Why wasn't anyone arrested? SOMEONE was driving that vehicle. Good for the grandparents not releasing the baby. IF mom sobers up, she might be relieved to know that someone was there who had her childs welfare as their primary interest.
The grandparents were right in not allowing the child to go with them in the first place.
Dumb, dumb drunks.
This is a sad state of affairs....poor kid..
