Lula Mae Best, 84, of Marshall, formerly of Arnold and Piedmont, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Golden Oaks Residential Care in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Heilitag-Lang-Fendler Chapel in Arnold, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel in Arnold. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Imperial. Pallbearers will be Donnie Boehm, Mike Boehm, Brian Boyles and Coty Tarwater. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon Cancer Center, P.O. Box 250, Marshall, MO 65340.
Born June 26, 1923, in Belle, she was the daughter of the late Charles Robert Kochenberger and Malinda Alice Groff Kochenberger. On Jan. 10, 1946, in St. Charles County, she was married to John C. Best, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1991. She had lived in Marshall since 2004, moving from Arnold. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Pat Boehm and Joyce VanLandeghem, both of Farmington, Joan Boyles of Arnold and Myra Switala of Marshall; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Berniece Nemeth of Chicago, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.
