The man estimated the value of the stolen gas at about $379, according to the report.
The theft apparently took place sometime between the evening of Tuesday, May 27, and 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 28.
Deputies said the man found the tank's hose lying on the ground with its nozzle held open by a piece of copper wire. A red plastic gas can was found nearby.
The tank had been secured with a chain and padlock, the man said, but both were missing Wednesday morning, according to the report.

sorry but thats awesome
this is unreal i know a few people who has had this happen to them and they did not report it. i know of one person who is going to set up a camera to try to catch the individual!
I don't think the gas price is due to Bush, rather, it is due to supply and demand....all the low hanging fruit has been picked and what is available is harder to get and not as good a quality....and then the demand of China, India, and many other countries with an emerging middle class....simply not enough to go around and people are willing to pay more for it....JMHO
Oh, and I don't think that we have seen high prices YET!!!!! I is going to hurt worse than most people realize!
Ditto!
WOW we can thank our President and all his oil buds for people not being able to afford gas therefore stealing it from a hard working average person trying to get by. Thanks Bush for everything you do for Texas.
