Harrietta V. (Fall) Gilliam, 89, of Richmond, formerly of Miami, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. Brad Chandler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. A memorial has been established to The Living Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church in Richmond in care of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall.
She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Napton, the daughter of the late Harry and Virginia (Hinton) Fall. On March 15, 1940, in Marshall, she married John Gilliam, who preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1999. She worked at many jobs in Marshall and Kansas City, including Nellie Don's in North Kansas City. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond.
Survivors include one son, J.A. Gilliam Jr. of Rayville; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, H.W. "Bill" Gilliam, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
