Phythian was arrested late Wednesday, May 21, after allegedly firing a gun inside his home, hitting a television set, according to a report from Saline County Sheriff's Department.
A woman at the residence told a sheriff's deputy that she was watching television shortly before 11 p.m. when Phythian told her to turn it off.
When she didn't, Phythian fired a 12-gauge shotgun, hitting the television. The woman fled the residence, reporting that she heard another shot fired as she drove away, according to the report.
Investigating officers at the scene found Phythian outside the residence.
According to the report, the suspect admitted he "shot the old TV."
A search of the residence turned up the damaged television, a 12-gauge shotgun and two spent shell casings.
Phythian remains in custody at Saline County Justice Facility on a cash-only bond of $5,000.

Injesstice - You'll have to ask someone else about the bond conditions. Information about how the court arrived at the amount and conditions is not a part of the court records to which we have access.
I don't understand the $5,000 cash only bond. Why was cash only required? What kind of threat is he? He shot his tv, not someone. Wow.
it is sad that in this day and age people make assumptions based on what they hear and not on facts. Assumptions are the root of serious foul ups by law enforcement officials everday.
