Marshall woman hurt in accident on U.S. 65 in Pettis County

Luz D. Turchios, 25, of Marshall, sustained moderate injuries in a one-car accident on U.S. Highway 65 in Pettis County, at about 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 19.

According to a report from Missouri State Highway Patrol, Turchios was southbound on U.S. 65 near Houston Road when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel of her 2001 Dodge Caravan.

The vehicle ran off the left side of the road onto the grass median, struck an embankment and became airborne, then struck the median again.

Turchios, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was taken to Bothwell Hospital, Sedalia, for treatment.

No summons has been issued; investigation into the accident continues.
