Jacob Cole Forbes, 20, of Alma, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, in Carroll County as the result of an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born Dec. 2, 1987, in Warrensburg, he was the son of Randall C. Forbes and Cathie L. Lyon Forbes, who survive of Alma. He had lived in Alma his entire life and was a member of Waverly Baptist Church. He was a 2006 graduate of Santa Fe High School and was currently a student at University of Central Missouri. He was a current member of the Missouri Air National Guard. He was the singer for the band "The Lights Go Out in Georgia."
Additional survivors include one sister, Christine Forbes of Alma; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his adopted grandma, Wini Lynch.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Doris Jean Lyon; his paternal grandparents, Willis and Lueva Forbes, one uncle, Gary Lyon; and his adopted grandfather, Bud Lynch.
