Lorene Harms, 83, of Blackburn, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn. Rev. Glenn Nowack will officiate. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born April 9, 1925, in Blackburn, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. Meinershagen and Elizabeth Woods Meinershagen. She had lived in Blackburn her entire life, where she was a graduate of Blackburn High School. She married Herbert Harms, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1999. She was the bookkeeper for Blackburn Elevator for 37 years and was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the La-Saline Extension Club and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Kiso of Slater; two brothers, Jim Meinershagen and John Meinershagen, both of Blackburn; two nephews, John Meinershagen of Versailles and Bruce Meinershagen of Mayview; along with one niece.
In addition to her parents and husband, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
