Lester Jackson, 82, of Houstonia, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to family choice. Born May 9, 1926, in Kansas City, he was the son of the late William L. Jackson and Stella Packham Jackson. He had lived in Houstonia the last 25 years, moving from the state of Washington. He had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include five sisters, Margaret Clark of Sweet Springs, Laura Rozzel of Kansas City, Bonnie Taylor of Otis Orchards, Wash., Yvonnåe Hall of Houstonia and Brenda Jackson of Kansas City; four brothers, Charles Jackson of Sweet Springs, Don Jackson of Sedalia, Jim Jackson of Sweet Springs and Jack Jackson of Forsyth; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Shirley Jackson, Martha Hall, Olive Robertson and Betty Iliff, and one brother, Billy Jackson.
