Interim Superintendent Donn Quick has confirmed that he was informed about concerns that test-taking procedures were not followed properly and said he has been investigating the matter.
Quick said he could not yet release any details about the investigation, and school board President Anita Wright concurred, noting that any action taken by the board would be made public as soon as possible.
The Marshall Board of Education has convened a number of special closed sessions to discuss personnel matters since the last regular meeting April 22, the latest of which occurred Friday, May 9, at 7 a.m.

I have heard a few rumors about teachers being suspended or fired over manipulating test scores, and I have to ask, is it normal or right for the children to spend 3 to 4 weeks just preparing and learning how to take a test just to make the school look good. I thought the purpose of these test was to show if the schools and teachers were meeting the standards or doing their job right, not show whether or not the teacher can drill a test over with the kids enough to make a good score. My daughter spent 3 or 4 weeks in her 3rd grade class preparing for the tests.
