Helen Ruth Hostetter, 78, of rural Sweet Springs, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs, with Rev. Robert Malone officiating. Burial will be in Southfork Cemetery, south of Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Born July 27, 1929, in Trenton, she was the daughter of the late George Walker and Lena Long Walker. On Oct. 12, 1975, she married Kenneth M. Hostetter, who survives of the home. She had lived in rural Sweet Springs for the last 18 years, moving from Kansas City. She was a beautician and a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Monte Sharp of Kansas City, Kan., Thomas Sharp of Kansas City, Kan., and Douglas Sharp of Sweet Springs; two grandchildren; four great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter and two brothers, Ivan Walker and Gene Walker.
