I'm pleased to announce that we have a new circulation clerk at the library. Denise Parris comes to us from Florida but was born and raised in Columbia.

We encourage everyone to stop in and welcome her.

The library's semi-annual Book Sale takes place all day on Friday and Saturday (May 9 and 10). There will be a variety of children's books as well as paperbacks. You don't want to miss it!

Because Sunday, May 11, is a busy day, what with Mother's Day and baccalaureates, the library will be closing at 3 p.m. on Sunday in order to allow the staff to participate in those activities. We appreciate your understanding.

Marvin Wilhite will be presenting a program titled "What Tombstones Tell." Genealogy and history buffs can learn quite a lot from tombstones. On Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m., Marvin will share his expertise and some examples he had collected from local cemeteries.
