Allen F. Hall, 65, of Sweet Springs, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs, with Rev. David Goode officiating. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery, south of Concordia. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs, where visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Born Dec. 1, 1942 in Knob Noster, he was the son of the late Sammy Allen Hall and Ruby Louise Harrington Hall. He had lived in Sweet Springs most of his life and on July 19, 1963, he married Lillie "Patsy" Ballenger, who preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 2004. In his younger years he raised hogs, then worked on several local farms and worked in construction. The last couple of years he worked at Piggly Wiggly in Sweet Springs, where he enjoyed being able to be with people. He was a member of First Baptist Church, UFCW Local 2 and Union Laborers 264.
Survivors include one daughter, Patty Jo Rayl of Sweet Springs; two sons, Allen F. "Dudley" Hall Jr. of Sweet Springs and Bradley A. Hall and his wife, Valerie, of Blackburn; a special niece raised in the Hall home, Crystal Dieckhoff and her children, Katie and Dalton, of Marshall; four grandchildren, Tara Michelle, Elizabeth Nicole, Shelby Lynn, Logan Allen, and one grandchild to be born this summer; one sister, Carolyn Dieckhoff of Sweet Springs; three brothers, Otto Hall of Warsaw, Kenny Dean Hall of Cole Camp and Bill Hall of rural Sweet Springs; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
