Donald L. Koch, 71, of Sweet Springs, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs, with Rev. Dan Wing officiating. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or St. John United Church of Christ. Born Oct. 16, 1936, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Raymond J. Koch and Lena Hemme Koch Pritchard. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957. On July 4, 1959, he married Jeanette Eckhoff, who survives of the home. He had lived in Sweet Springs his entire life and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years and was also a truck driver, bulldozer and backhoe operator and was owner and operator of E&K Cycle Sales.
Additional survivors include two sons, Allan Koch and Tim Koch, both of Sweet Springs; one daughter, Kathy Koch of Sweet Springs; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Sharyl Crimm of Lee's Summit; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenny Pritchard.
