However, customers may use Forever Stamps on their first class letters, regardless of when they purchased the stamp, USPS officials said.
"Consumers can continue to use Forever Stamps they purchased for 41 cents even after the price change," said Marshall Postmaster Tim Horner. "The Postal Service developed the Forever Stamp for consumers to ease the transition during price changes."
The Postal Service plans to have five billion Forever Stamps in stock to meet the expected increase demand before the May price change.
The Marshall Post Office has enough Forever Stamps in stock to meet their custumer's needs, according to postal officials.
Forever Stamps can be purchased at the Marshall Post Office, online at www.usps.com or by calling 1-800-STAMP-24.
Forever Stamps will be sold for 42 cents starting on May 12.
