The accident occurred at about 5:05 p.m. as a 2005 Dodge, driven by Danny R. Auer, 62, of Marshall, was heading westbound on County Road 138 and began skidding off the west side of the roadway. A 1993 Chevrolet 1500, driven by Robert J. McCoy, 51, of Marshall, was traveling eastbound and attempted to avoid collision, causing his vehicle to run off the roadway, striking the Dodge, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report.
The Dodge received extensive damage and the Chevrolet was declared totaled. Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident, the report said.
According to MSHP, Auer received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. Passenger in McCoy's vehicle, Roger W. Johnson, 45, of Marshall, received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Auer was issued a summons for failure to drive in the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident. McCoy was issued a summons for no insurance, police said.
