The Greyhounds were staked to a 5-2 lead in the second inning when junior Blake Vogelsmeier clocked a three-run homer. However, Sweet Springs would be shut out over the net three frames while the Cougars scored at least three runs during each of their final four at-bats.
Much of the damage inflicted on the 'Hounds would be by their own hands, seven errors resulting in four unearned runs. Owens and junior Tucker Wagoner contributed solo homers for the Cougars.
Siegfried had three hits and scored four runs and junior Garrett Whited and senior Andrew White each had a pair of RBIs for Crest Ridge (4-5), which will play Windsor for the consolation trophy Thursday.
Sophomore Zach Thomas' two hits led Sweet Springs (0-8), which will next play May 1 at Northwest of Hughesville.
