Martha Jane (Loggins) Gerlt, 53, of New Castle, Ind., formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at her residence following an extended illness.
Cremation. Services were held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Rev. Mark Lomison officiating. Cremation will follow. She was born Aug. 20, 1954, in Turrill, Ark., the daughter of William Lawrence and Ethel Early May (Dale) Loggins. A licensed practical nurse, she worked at Marshall Habilitation Center in Marshall until moving to New Castle in 1999. While in Marshall, she had also been assistant manager at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Waylon Temple Church in Marshall.
She is survived by her mother, Ethel Early May Loggins of Malta Bend, two daughters, Angela Clayton of Spiceland, Ind., and Marcella "Marci" Gari of New Lisbon, Ind.; one adopted daughter, Lois Foster of Marshall; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mary Anne Currey of Chula; three brothers, Billy Joe Loggins of Marshall, Charles Loggins of Malta Bend and Donald Loggins of Chillicothe; one adopted brother, Rick Woolridge of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Sample Jr.; one daughter, Jamie Leanne Tabor; and her father, W.L. Loggins.
