Delbert A. Fornshell, 68, of Nelson, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Gene Ekstrand and Rev. Murlin Anstine officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Widel, Mark Narron, Mike Deal, Steve Graver, Darrin Hix and Tommy Todd. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Eckhoff, Dale Howard, Randy Adams, Roger Delana and David Howard. Born Oct. 20, 1939, in Luts, he was the son of the late George and Lorene Fornshell. On June 11, 1961, in Nelson, he married Lula Mae "Punkie" Campbell, who preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2006. He had lived in Nelson most of his life and was a meat cutter for over 30 years. He was a member of Nelson Assembly of God Church and Saline County Coonhunters Association.
Survivors include two sons, Hershel Fornshell and his wife, Teleina, of Windsor and Steven Fornshell and his wife, April, of Marshall; one daughter, Denise Crusha and her husband, Jim, of Windsor; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Edgar Fornshell of Colorado Springs, Colo., and John Fornshell of Nelson; three sisters, Ruby Early of New Franklin, Dora VanSteenberg and Virgie Newell, both of Boonville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Fornshell and Elmer Fornshell, and two sisters, Mary Lange and Ruth Lindsey.
