The Wildcats had taken the lead in the top of the third inning, scoring seven runs -- three free passes with the bases loaded. Freshman Travis Holt had his second RBI single of the game and freshman Ethan Owens cleared the packed bags with a double.
Freshman Drew Smith's two-run double in the bottom of the second had put the Orioles in front, 6-2. However, as they came to bat in the bottom of the fourth, they were trailing.
That's when lightning appeared nearby, causing a 40-minute delay. Slater was blanked over the final three frames -- the game ending in the sixth due to rain -- by senior Logan Lenz and the O's rallied.
Senior Jake Baldwin tied the game with a two-run double in the fourth, with Smith drawing a bases-loaded walk to force in the go-ahead run in the fifth -- one of 21 bases on balls issued during the contest. Smith recorded four RBIs during the game for Concordia (4-5).
Owens drove in three runs with a pair of hits for the 'Cats (1-8), who host New Franklin on Tuesday.
