The Owls lost their fourth straight match Wednesday, a 7-2 decision for Helias in Jefferson City. The Crusaders won in the top four singles spots, including senior David Landwehr's 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (10-8) overtime victory over junior Mac Evans at No. 3.
Marshall won in extra frames in the bottom two positions, senior Ross Crawford defeating junior Caleb Hughmann, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (10-6), and sophomore Ethan Murphy coming from behind to nip senior Bobby Rauch, 1-6, 6-0, 7-6 (10-4).
Helias (4-3) swept the three doubles matches.
The Owls (7-4) are scheduled to be in Sedalia on Friday for the Smith-Cotton Classic, weather permitting.
