Ann Gorrell and Susan Jansen were appointed to board, and newly elected Scott Moore was sworn in.
In addition to being sworn in, Moore was appointed treasurer.
Gary Shea's resignation from the board was also approved.
In other business, Bridgetta Freel Al-hamzawi stood before the board to request use of the school kitchen. Freel Al-hamzawi would use the kitchen to produce Suncatcher Datecakes, a company she created with her brother Tom Freel.
"This would be a big help until we could move into our own place," said Freel Al-hamzawi.
In return, students would be allowed to assist in the process for possible elective credit.
Freel Al-hamzawi said she planned to centralize the company in Malta Bend.
"Everyone wants Malta Bend to have as many opportunities as possible," Superintendent Melissa Vesser said of the proposal.
However, Vesser's positive outlook was not unanimous amongst board members.
"I don't think they have a place in the school," said Gorrell. "What's next, people coming in to do their laundry?"
"I think we should check it out," added Mindy Rigby, vice president of the board.
The meeting also featured a presentation from the salary commission.
Among their requests was a $1000 bump in base salary for teachers, and increasing the reimbursement for unused sick days from $30 to $60.
