First, the meeting room is available for use as a quiet study or reading area when not in use by the library staff or a group who has reserved the room.
Feel free to ask at the desk about availability.
Second, the library will be purchasing a small number of new paperbacks each month in order to serve the community and to gauge how much interest the paperbacks generate. The titles will be chosen from bestseller lists.
Finally, several of our customers suggested we set up a bookstore in the library. While we don't have space to meet that request, we have set up a designated "Books For Sale" area at the desk.
These books are new or gently used and sell for $2 each. They will be available daily and will change frequently.
We hope these additions to our current services will benefit everyone who uses the library.

Missouri author Sharon Hanson will be at the Marshall Public Library on Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. to discuss her most recent book. The book is a full-life biography titled "The Life of Helen Stephens: The Fulton Flash."
Helen Stephens was a Missouri farm girl who represented her country in the now-famous 1936 Berlin Olympics and was awarded the only two U.S. gold medals in women's track.
Hanson had the opportunity to interview Helen Stephens before her death for this authorized biography. It should be an informative and exciting presentation. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
