Gladys M. Bell, 94, of Gilliam, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. Jess Spurgin officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "In the Garden" and "Ivory Palaces." Burial will be held in Gilliam cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Markovich, Brandon Bingaman, David Bingaman, Rex Cantlin, Charlie Guthrie and Jason Weiker. Friends may call Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Gilliam United Methodist Church or Slater Senior Center.
Born Jan. 29, 1914, in Hardin County, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Grace Brown Mossman. On Nov. 26, 1939, she married L. King Richardson, who preceded her in death on June 27, 1977. On Sept. 15, 1982, in Slater, she married Leland L. Bell, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1989. She was a longtime member and past treasurer of Gilliam United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Finley Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for 40 years at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Several nieces and nephews survive her.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
