Those of you who had the pleasure to read the March 19 interview with Sophia Bolser, who offered her opinions on the book "Cookie's Week" by Tomie dePaola might be interest in what happened next. Apparently, Mr. dePaola found out about Sophia's review of his book and he wrote her a letter in care of the library. He even sent pictures of himself and his pet.
Sophia's mom is very pleased and plans on writing him back. This all happened just after Sophia's fourth birthday. Sophia will have a very special memento of that occasion.
Congratulations, Sophia!

Missouri author Sharon Hanson will be at the Marshall Public Library on Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. to discuss her most recent book.
The book is a full-life biography titled "The Life of Helen Stephens: The Fulton Flash."
Helen Stephens was a Missouri farm girl who represented her country in the now-famous 1936 Berlin Olympics and was awarded the only two U.S. gold medals in women's track.
Hanson had the opportunity to interview Helen Stephens before her death for this authorized biography.
It should be an informative and exciting presentation.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
