Gilliam woman hurt in wreck

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to an injury accident Thursday, April 3, in Cooper County that left a Gilliam woman with minor injuries.

Allyson Chaney, 17, was traveling southbound on Highway 41 at Imhoff Drive in Cooper County about 4:35 p.m. when her 2001 Pontiac traveled off the right side of the road and struck a stop sign and dirt embankment, according to the report.

The Pontiac received extensive damage and was towed from the scene. Chaney was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by private vehicle.

According to the patrol, Chaney was not wearing a safety belt.
