Up to that point, the Lady Greyhounds were very much alive. Sophomore Kristin Jones singled in a run in the fifth and sophomore Kathleen Tyler singled and scored on a grounder in the sixth to cut a 4-0 deficit in half.
The Saints (3-0) exploded in the sixth, though, aided by five walks and an error. Sophomore Taylor Vogelsmeier brought in the first run with a double and sophomore Rachel Kreisel added an RBI single.
Jones and senior Kaila Koch each had two hits for Sweet Springs (0-4), scheduled to host Santa Fe on Friday.
