Alice Fern Ownby, 80, of Marshall, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born July 6, 1927, in Wynot, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Albert Shively and Vera Emma Faye Davis Shively. On June 21, 1956, she married Guin Marcus Ownby, who preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1988. She retired from Marshall Habilitation Center in 1985. She was a member of Olivet Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Kathy Apel and her companion, Larry Yunt, of Sedalia, Helen Bethel and her husband, Jack, of Marshall, Jennifer Quick and her husband, Byron, of Marshall and Barbara Davis of Sweet Springs; one son, Billy Davis of Sweet Springs; one stepdaughter, Debbie Stimpfel of Lee's Summit; eight grandsons, Mike Clark and his wife, Angie, Justin Clark and his wife, Sally, Karrington Quick, Aaron Quick, Matt Quick, Dirk Bethel, T.C. Bethel and his fiancée, Tiffany Hecke, and Matt Bethel; six granddaughters, Sandi Wirtz and her companion, Sean Reynolds, Tiesha Cody, Kyli Bethel, Katie Bethel, Tiffy Quick and Tabitha Long and her husband, Steven; two step-granddaughters, Shelly and Tieara; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Shively and his wife, Wilma, of East Prairie and Herman Shively and his wife, Betty, of Marshall; four sisters, Jean Bom and her husband, Robert, of Sikeston, Linda Brown and her husband, Gary, of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Carolyn Mackey and her husband, David, of the state of California and Mary Jerry and her husband, Alex, of the state of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ann Davis, two sisters and one brother.
