Cynthia Ann Samson Rhoads, 60, of Boonville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, with Fr. Bob Duesdieker officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with visitation to follow. Memorials may be made to the family of Cynthia Rhoads. Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
She was born July 4, 1947, in Boonville, to Edward and Delores Ann Kempf Stoecklein. On April 16, 2000, she was married to David Rhoads, who survives of the home. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Pilot Grove and Mercy High School in Marshall. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and had been church song leader for over 30 years. She was a singer and song writer and had been a stage performer at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre and Thespian Hall. She was a member of Red Hatters and had owned and operated Countryside Palace for years. Currently, she was activity director at Ashley Manor Nursing Home.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by four daughters, Phillette Harvey and her husband, Douglas, of Boonville, Lory Weinreich and her husband, Eddie, of Marshall, Shanna Samson of St. Louis and Rachelle "Ducky" Fenical and her husband, Kelsey, of Pilot Grove; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one son, James Edward "Jed" Samson.
