Marshall senior Courtney Henley has been honored with selection to the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association's Class 4 girls' second team.
Henley (5), a 5-foot-11 forward, led the Lady Owls to the Class 4, District 14 Tournament title and a playoff appearance -- with a record of 16-9 following their 56-43 loss to state runner-up Notre Dame de Sion of Kansas City in the sectional round. Marshall also shared the NCMC title during her junior campaign, in which she topped the team in scoring (11.3 points per game) and rebounding (8.5).
A three-year starter and four-year letterman, Henley amassed over 1,100 points and 600 rebounds during her career. During her final season, Henley led the Lady Owls with 13.8 points per game, free throws (96/126) and percentage (76.2), steals (44) and blocked shots (21); was second with 6.1 rebounds per game; and third in assists (48).
Henley was also named to the Missouri High School Basketball Coaches Association all-state squad. (Chris Allen/Democrat-News)
