The Tigers' 11-1, five-inning NCMC romp was aided by five errors for five unearned runs -- including the final two, scored on a dropped fly ball in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game on the "10-run rule."
Sophomore Trevor Allinson's two-run double in the second was the biggest blow of the game for Kirksville (2-0, 2-0 NCMC), which scored five times in the third on a walk, hit batter, three errors and RBI singles by King and Allen.
The Owls' only run came in the top of the fifth. Senior Ethan Williams led off the frame with a single and came in on a bases-loaded grounder from senior Tyler Smith.
Junior Cory McComas, who has been nursing a bad back since practice began, got the start and threw three innings for Marshall (0-3, 0-1) -- which plays Thursday at Fulton.
