Newscope/CART funds down from last year

Revenue from the County Aid Road Trust fund was down in March, though not quite as badly as in February, according to figures released last week by Sam Jones, county treasurer.

Revenue for March 2008 was $56,901.20, compared to $65,708.61 in March 2007.

The difference of $8,807.41 was better than the dip in revenue from February, which was $10,352.72 less than February 2007.

Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner said some of the reduction in revenue could be accounted for by a $1,400 monthly deduction made by the state Department of Revenue to fix a mistake made earlier at the state level.
