Charles "Richard" Mayfield Sr.

Charles "Richard" Mayfield Sr., 57, of Dyersburg, Tenn., died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tenn.

Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Chapel in Newbren, Tenn., with Jerry Leach officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Saturday. Internment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, with Rev. Acie Ford officiating. Memorials may be made to the Charles "Richard" Mayfield Sr. Memorial Fund in care of Shane Denevan at Baptist Memorial-Tipton, 1995 Highway 51 South, Covington, TN 38019.

He was born Oct. 29, 1950, in Arkansas, the son of Robbie (Hays) Mayfield of Memphis and the late James T. Mayfield. He was an X-ray technician at Baptist Memorial-Tipton and a member of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Emily Rose Crum and her husband, Jason, of Dyersburg and Eva Maria Hardin and her husband, Joseph, of Dyersburg; one son, Charles Richard "Buddy" Mayfield Jr. and his fiancé, Rachel Repking, of Marshall; two sisters, Frances Anderson and her husband, Jim, of Memphis and Linda Bandy and her husband, Glen, of Memphis; and one brother, Donald Mayfield and his wife, Janie, of Memphis.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Mayfield.
