I interviewed Sophia about the book "Cookie's Week" by Cindy Ward and Tomie dePaola. Sophia read this whole book to me by herself (I was so proud of her!) and then we sat down to talk about it.
Sophia, what is this book about?
"About a kitty cat!"
Is this about a good kitty, or is the kitty ornery?
"It is a very naughty kitty."
On Monday, when Cookie fell into the toilet, what went all over?
"The water went everywhere, all over the floor."
Where was kitty playing on Tuesday when dirt went everywhere?
"She playing on the window with all the flowers."
Was Cookie a good kitty for the rest of the week?
"No. On Wednesday she was playing in the garbage, and trash went everywhere."
Do you think Cookie will rest on Sunday?
"Yes. It is time for her to be a good kitty."
What was your favorite day of the week?
"Thursday. Cookie got stuck in a drawer, and pots flew all over."
Do you have a cat or other pets?
"I don't have a cat. I have one dog and one horse!"
Well, I am sure that Don and Karen are very relieved that the horse isn't playing in the closet like the cat in "Cookie's Week;" I don't think they would ever find all the clothes.
Remember; the Marshall Public Library has books for all ages. From Sophia who is beginning to read all by herself, all the way down to our baby board books that Sophia can read to her six week old sister, Karlea.
Next time you are looking for something for the whole family, pop on in to the library!
