Saline County Republicans select delegates for district and state conventions

Richard Clemens, chairman of the Saline County Republican Committee, announced the results of the party's caucus, held Saturday, March 15, in the Club House on the Marshall square.

Selected to serve as delegates to the district convention in Sedalia April 19 are Lester Bailey, Gordon Buckner, Clemens, Ken Hughson, Ron Murphy, G. Edward Richards, Melvin Smith and Bill Stouffer.

All are from Marshall except Hughson of Sweet Springs and Stouffer of Napton.

District convention alternates are Nellie Bailey, Dean Borchers, Jonathan Borges, Nellie Clemens, Doris Davis, Sam Davis, Patricia Richards and Sue Ellen Stouffer.

All are from Marshall except Borchers, who is from Blackburn, and Stouffer, who is from Napton.

Selected to serve as delegates to the state convention are Jonathan Borges, Richard Clemens, Ken Hughson, G. Edward Richards, Patricia Richards, Melvin Smith, Bill Stouffer and Sue Ellen Stouffer.

State convention alternates are Dean Borchers, Lester Bailey, Nellie Bailey, Judy Borges, Nellie Clemens, Doris Davis, Sam Davis and LaVerne Little.

The 20 or so participants at the caucus also passed a resolution they will submit to be considered for the state party platform calling for the government to continue encouraging the use of alternative energy sources, Clemens said.
