Mary Darby Gier, 66, of Eldon, formerly of Marshall, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with Rev. Steve Raglin officiating. Born Jan. 15, 1942, in Bethany, she was the daughter of the late William Price Darby and Eldora K. Gardner Darby Sitzes and her husband, Charles Sitzes. She was married to Boyd Gier, who preceded her in death. She had lived in Eldon since the early 1980s, previously living in Marshall, and was a bartender for American Legion in Jefferson City. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Bill Testerman and his wife, Lori, of Napton; two granddaughters, Tiffany Stepp and Holly Testerman; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Stepp, Anastasia Stepp, Dalton Price Stepp and Juan Hernandez; one step-brother, David Sitzes and his wife, Joyce, of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, step-father and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Jean Darby and Beverly Walz, and one brother, Donald Darby.
