Anna Louise Berry, 87, of Slater, formerly of Gilliam, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Big Bend Retreat Nursing Home in Slater.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. Al Oetman will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Jessica Fleetwood as she sings "In the Garden" and "Near to the Heart of God." Burial will be in Gilliam Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Borgman, John Constant, Paul Doug Constant, Randy Bruken, Butch Cobb and Vincent Adams. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat.
Born Nov. 8, 1920, in Tipton, she was the daughter of the late Michael Hampton Alkire and Maude Snorgrass Alkire. On June 6, 1941, in Marshall, she married Kenneth R. Berry, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2002. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Moberly. She was a 1940 graduate of Gilliam High School and a member of Gilliam Extension Club. She lived in Gilliam most of her life, before moving to Slater in 2006.
She is survived by one son, Dale Berry of Columbia, and two granddaughters.
