Thursday, February 28, 2008
Arrow Rock State Historical Site will host a presentation Saturday, March 1, entitled "The Civil War in Saline County; Hangings, Bushwacking, Battles and Skirmishes in the Age of Terror."

Michael Dickey, administrator of Arrow Rock State Historical Site, and Jim Denny, historian with the Division of State Parks, will present a case study of conditions in Saline County prior to and during the war.

Dickey will describe the social and economic conditions of Saline County during the Civil War period, while Denny will analize the battles and skirmishes that took place in Saline County, particularly the Battle of Marshall on Oct. 13, 1863.

The Friends of Arrow Rock will also have food from the Civil War era available.
