Ernie E. Lamb, 82, of Sedalia, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Henrietta First Baptist Church in Henrietta. Rev. Mike Hibbard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Evelyn Hessenflow will accompany Gary Manning as he sings "Beyond The Sunset" and "On the Wings of a Dove." Pallbearers will be Chris Hibbard, Jason Hobbs, Dustin Lamb, Jim Lamb, Larry Lamb and Johnny Miller. Burial will be in Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Henrietta First Baptist Church Youth Program or Dodger Youth Baseball in Independence.
He was born May 13, 1925, at Kaw City, Okla., the son of the late Herbert and Lena Goulding Lamb. On May 19, 1952, at Mountain Home, Ark., he married Juanita Adams, who survives of the home. He was a Machinist Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter all his life and had lived in Mountain Home for many years and in Independence for 35 years before moving to the Marshall and Sedalia areas. He had been a Boy Scout Leader and was involved with the Tribe Of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of Independence Carpenter Local Union 1329 and Salisbury Hills Baptist Church in Independence.
Additional survivors include one son, Jack G. Lamb of Independence; one daughter, Cathie Hibbard of Richmond; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
