The library sure has been the beneficiary of a veritable storm of donations and improvements lately.
First, the Library Foundation fundraiser was able to provide the funds for handicapped-accessible doors to be installed at the library.
In addition, the foundation donated a nice mock fireplace for our meeting room.
Then the Library Board of Trustees approved a plan to install a ceiling in the genealogy room.
And finally, Donna Moore donated $50 that will go to purchase additional storage for the genealogy room.
I wish to extend a heart-felt thanks to all who made the mprovements possible.

Due to the inclement weather last Thursday, Virginia Huston's program on Pennytown was postponed. I am pleased that Virginia has graciously agreed to reschedule her program. Please come to the library on Tuesday, March 4, at 7 p.m., for a program on the largest of Saline County's historic black hamlets -- Pennytown.
