Glen Chastine, 77, of rural Blackburn, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn, with Rev. Glenn Nowack officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Jason Hunt, Brian Kercher, Frank Rendino, Nick Chastine, Chris Kraft, Josh Chastine and Aaron Chastine. Born May 12, 1930, in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Roscoe Chastine and Mauda Turner Chastine. On Sept. 1, 1950, he married Delora Meyer, who survives of the home. He had lived in rural Blackburn since 1972 and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Linda Dertnig of Wichita, Kan., Debby Blue of Fulton and Barbara Dake of Sedalia; three sons, Steve Chastine and his wife, Patty, of Perry, Ga., Ron Chastine and his wife, Kim, of rural Malta Bend and Gary Chastine and his wife, Janice, of Marshall; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gail Chastine of Buffalo; two sisters, Eva Marie McDonnell of Springfield and Veda Unger of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Chastine.
