Every year The Marshall Democrat-News publishes a series of special sections that focuses on informing readers about what's new -- or reminding them about what's familiar -- in Saline County communities.

In the Friday, Feb. 15, edition readers were given a tour of Slater's growing and thriving festivals, its newest businesses, and the changes made in its established businesses.

In the Friday, Feb. 22, edition we focused on Sweet Springs, with its racetrack, auto repair businesses and other features.

On Friday, Feb. 29, we'll offer a look at area towns and villages, including businesses from Alma, Blackwater, Arrow Rock, Malta Bend and Napton (with a bit of Napton history, too).

In March, we'll publish several special sections on what's been happening in Marshall, with a special look at the businesses around the square and a roundup of recent big building projects.

We hope you'll check out the paper every day, but especially on Fridays during our "Progress in Motion" look at what's going on in the area.
