The Bearcats added to an 11-point halftime lead in the boys' nightcap with a 23-9 third-quarter run behind 12 points from senior Taylor Griffin to claim an 86-65 victory. Griffin scored 23 points and senior Aaron James led Orrick (11-10, 5-2 I-70) with 24 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
Sophomore Zach Thomas had 15 points and six boards for the Greyhounds (7-15, 1-6), who shot 30.5 percent from the field and were beaten on the glass, 46-36.
The Sweet Springs girls fell behind by 10 points during the first period, but weren't out of it until seniors Brittany Townsend and Cerin Wright each hit a pair of three-pointers during a 24-8 third-quarter splurge which propelled Orrick to a 61-40 win.
Townsend scored 17 points and senior Brittnee Nichols added 12 as the Lady Bearcats (18-3, 6-1) had four players reach double figures while wrapping up second place in the league standings.
The Lady 'Hounds (14-9, 3-4) were led by senior Laura Keesaer's 12 points and seven rebounds.
Sweet Springs will begin the final week of the regular season Tuesday by hosting Kingsville in a non-conference clash.
