Wilbur A. Henderson, 82, of Kansas City, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Marshall.
Born March 24, 1925, in Marshall, he was the son of Oliver J. Henderson and Sibyl (Middleton) Henderson. He was educated in Marshall at Lincoln School and attended high school at C.C. Hubbard in Sedalia. While at C.C. Hubbard, in 1943 he was all-state first-string in football. He was a member of Cain Grant A.M.E. in Kansas City. He retired from Trinity Lutheran Church in Kansas City after more than twenty years of service.
He is survived by his six children, Richard Henderson of Kansas City, Abdulla Walker of the state of Maryland, Patricia Green of Los Angeles, Calif., Dennis Moon of Marshall, Marsha Wren of Dallas, Texas, and Hannah Henderson of Marshall; one brother, Arthur Henderson of Kansas City; two sisters, Doris Jackson of Marshall and Lucy Grant of Kansas City; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
