Mabel A. Spradley, 94, of Slater, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at Big Bend Retreat Nursing Home in Slater.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Slater United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jess Spurgin officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Barbara Thieman as she sings "The Old Rugged Cross," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Amazing Grace." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Spradley, Kriss Spradley, Brett Macchietto, Kris Spradley, Tommy Miller and Larry Hager. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born Aug. 7, 1913, in Hardeman, she was the daughter of the late John Jacob Feuers and Dorthea Dahms Feuers. On Aug. 15, 1931, in Slater, she married John S. Spradley, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4,1966. She was a longtime member of Slater United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She had been very active at Slater Senior Center.

She is survived by one son, Dale Spradley and his wife, Lola, of Cuchara, Colo.; four grandchildren, Larry Spradley, Kriss Spradley, Lynnelle Macchietto and Teri Figueroa; seven great-grandchildren, Sara, Tara, Kris, Kayla, Brett, Mark and Samantha; and one brother, Lester Feuers of Slater.

She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Spradley; four brothers, Chester Feuers, Andrew Feuers, Robert Feuers and Raymond Feuers; and three sisters, Opal Kays, Della Leimkuehler and Esther Thornton.
