Floyd J. Cromwell, 86, of Kearney, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Liberty Terrace Residential in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Kenny Pointer, Kelly Hummel, John Hummel, Johnny Hummel, Mark A. Cromwell and Jana Cromwell. Memorials may be made to Kendallwood Hospice in Riverside. Born Sept. 9, 1921, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna Vogt Cromwell. On Aug. 19, 1948, he married Mabel Brown, who preceded him in death Feb. 12, 2002. He had lived in Kearney the last 16 years and was a custodian for Armour Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City. He also made braces for cerebral palsy patients.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Pointer and her husband, Jim, of rural Marshall; one son, Mark Cromwell and his wife, Laurie, of Kearney; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Pollard.
